Dr. Neeraj Agarwal, MD, a Professor of medicine, is a physician and an investigator at the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI), University of Utah. At the HCI, he directs the Genitourinary Oncology (GU) Program, the Center of Investigational Therapeutics (CIT), and co-leads the Experimental Therapeutic Program (a cancer center support grant program) at the HCI). Dr. Agarwal has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He has been invited to give talks at several national and international forums. He serves as a panel member for the NCCN guideline- committees for bladder, and kidney cancer, and as a consultant to the oncology drug advisory committee (ODAC) to the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Dr. Agarwal is a member of several professional societies, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR) and the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG). Agarwal has the honor of serving as the associate editor for the ASCO Daily news, as GU cancer specialty editor for the Cancer.Net (cancer and treatment education website for patients by ASCO), and on the editorial board of several journals including Journal of Clinical Oncology (JCO). Dr. Agarwal is the overall study chair of multiple phase I/II and phase III registration trials, in GU cancers. In addition, he is leading several other clinical trials as one of the steering committee members. Dr. Agarwal has the prestigious honor of being chosen as one of the SWOG young investigators in 2009, as the leader of early therapeutics of the SWOG Genitourinary Cancer Scientific leadership Committee in 2010, of receiving the 2009-2010 William D. Odell Young Investigator award, and the 2014 Cancer Clinical Investigator Team Leadership Award from the NCI. In 2018, he was appointed as Huntsman Cancer Institute Presidential Endowed Chair of Cancer Research.
